Modern Slavery Statement
Man with Van Acton Modern Slavery Statement
Man with Van Acton is committed to conducting its business ethically, responsibly, and in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise that exploitation can occur in any sector or country, and we are determined to identify, prevent, and address any such risks associated with our activities.
Modern slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, debt bondage, and human trafficking. Man with Van Acton has a zero-tolerance approach to these abuses and expects the same clear commitment from all individuals and organisations that work with or for us.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
We categorically prohibit the use of forced labour, child labour, or any form of coercive or exploitative practice within our business. All workers engaged by Man with Van Acton must be employed voluntarily, paid fairly in line with legal requirements, and treated with dignity and respect.
We do not knowingly engage with any supplier, contractor, or business partner that is involved in, or fails to take adequate steps to prevent, modern slavery or human trafficking. Where credible concerns arise, we will investigate promptly and take appropriate action, which may include suspension or termination of our relationship.
Supply Chain Standards and Supplier Audits
Our supply chain primarily consists of providers of vehicles, fuel, equipment, maintenance services, and occasional labour and agency support. We expect all suppliers and contractors to uphold high standards of labour and human rights and to comply with all relevant employment, health and safety, and anti-slavery legislation.
To strengthen these expectations, we seek to incorporate modern slavery clauses and ethical requirements into our supplier arrangements where appropriate. We reserve the right to carry out checks or audits on selected suppliers, proportionate to the level of risk and the nature of the goods or services they provide.
Our supplier review process may include requesting information on labour practices, verifying the use of legitimate recruitment channels, and confirming that wages, working hours, and conditions meet legal and ethical standards. Where risks are identified, we work with suppliers to implement corrective actions. Failure to address serious concerns can result in the ending of a commercial relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Man with Van Acton encourages all workers, contractors, and other stakeholders to raise any concerns they may have relating to modern slavery, human trafficking, or unethical labour practices connected to our business or supply chains.
Concerns may be reported verbally to a manager or in writing through internal reporting processes. Reports can be made in good faith without fear of retaliation. We treat all concerns seriously and, where appropriate, conduct investigations that are fair, confidential, and respectful to all parties involved.
Where there is evidence of criminal activity, we will consider reporting the matter to the relevant authorities. We are committed to remedying any adverse impact on affected individuals as far as we reasonably can, working with competent organisations where necessary.
Training, Awareness, and Responsibility
Responsibility for overseeing our modern slavery commitments sits with senior management, who ensure that this Statement is implemented throughout the organisation. Relevant staff are made aware of the risks of modern slavery and the standards expected of them when engaging suppliers, contractors, and workers.
We aim to develop our approach over time by enhancing staff awareness and improving our ability to identify, assess, and respond to modern slavery risks within our operations.
Annual Review and Continuous Improvement
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least once every year to ensure it remains accurate, effective, and aligned with evolving legal requirements and good practice. As part of the annual review, we consider feedback from staff, suppliers, and stakeholders, as well as any incidents or concerns raised during the year.
Where areas for improvement are identified, we will update our policies, procedures, and supplier engagement processes accordingly. Our aim is to strengthen risk assessment, enhance transparency in our supply chains, and promote responsible practices across our business relationships.
This Statement reflects Man with Van Acton’s position for the current financial year and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to respecting human rights and preventing modern slavery in all its forms.
